Established in 1994

Bancroft School of Motoring was established in 1994 with a view to filling a void in the market for weekend tuition and door to door collections. One to one tuition was one of the main building blocks of the business.

With new test routes and changes in the driving test, the business grew to four dual controlled cars which are worked seven days a week by full time staff. We have found that word of mouth is the best form of advertisement as Bancroft School of Motoring continues to grow.

We offer a choice of male or female instructors and provide comprehensive, patient training to ensure you become a confident and safe driver.

What do I have to do to obtain a Full Driving License?

Before we can even begin to get you on the road to success you will have to arrange the following:

  • Apply and Pass the Driver Theory Test
  • Obtain an Eyesight Report
  • Obtain a Provisional License
  • Apply for your Driving Test
When I apply for my Driving Test how long will I have to wait?

Waiting times vary depending on the test center and current demand. Currently, waiting times can be between 8-20 weeks. We recommend applying for your test early in your learning process to ensure you get a test date when you're ready.

I don't have a car, is it possible to use one of the school cars for my Driving Test?

No problem, we supply our vehicles at a very reasonable fee to any of our students that require a car for their Driving Test.

How many lessons will I need before I can take my test?

Every student is different. Some people learn faster than others. It typically takes between 20-30 lessons for a complete beginner to be ready for the test. If you already have some driving experience, you may need fewer lessons.
